All skiers must have a MyXC Skiwerx Membership in order to score points in the Skiwerx Series.
Best five races count.
Points are accumulated according to the following chart:
1st - 60 points
2nd - 50
3rd - 42
4th - 36
5th - 32
6th - 30
7th - 28
8th - 26
9th - 24
10th - 22
11th - 20
13th - 16
14th - 14
15th - 12
16th - 10
17th - 8
18th - 6
19th - 4

Skiwerx Series Rules
WAX RESTRICTIONS FOR YOUTH EVENTS
All Skiwerx Series events are restricted to non-fluorinated glide waxes.
SEEDING FOR RACE STARTS
Skiers must be pre-registered for an event to be seeded in that event.
For the first three scheduled races, seeding order will be random within two groups:
A. Skiers with current MyXC Skiwerx Membership
B. Skiers without current MyXC Skiwerx Membership
RULES OF RACING/PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITIES
310.2.2.1 Classical technique includes the diagonal Diagonal Stride techniques, double poling with or without diagonal kick, herringbone without a gliding phase, and turning techniques.
310.2.2.2 Diagonal Stride technique is comprised of alternating diagonal movements of both arms and legs and includes diagonal stride and herringbone techniques without a gliding phase. In diagonal technique only one or no pole is in the ground at any time.
310.2.2.3 Turning techniques comprise of steps with the inner ski and pushes with the outer ski in order to change directions. The sections of the course where turning techniques are allowed must be clearly marked.
310.2.2.4 Where there are one or more set tracks, repeatedly changing or steeping in and out of tracks is not allowed.
310.2.1.5 Single or double-skating is not allowed.
Rules of Racing/Participant Responsibilities
i. All skiers competitors, coaches, and parents must ski in the direction of the race course during training, warm up and competition.
ii. Tracking Rules should be honored in applicable races. Obstructing, pushing or deliberately impeding or blocking another skier is not allowed.
iii. The competitor is responsible for arriving at the start and starting at the correct time.
iv. Competitors have to cover the whole distance on their skis using only their own means of propulsion. Help from pacemakers or pushing is not allowed.
v. During an interval start competition a competitor who is being overtaken must give way on the first demand.
vi. For all other competitions, when overtaking occurs, competitors must not cause any obstruction.
vii. Competitors, coaches, and parents must follow the instructions of the race organizer in order to ensure order before, during and after the competition.
i. U8-U10 racers will be corrected verbally on course by monitors.
ii. U12-U14 racers may be corrected verbally, but will also be recorded for rules infringement and will be sent to the race jury for discussion regarding possible sanctions.
Skiwerx Series Awards
U14 and U12: Awards will be given to the top five in each age group/gender overall. And the top five places for skiers who live within 100 miles of the Minneapolis/St Paul metro area. This is to promote local racing.
U10: All skiers that participate in at least four events will receive a medal.
All-or-nothing: All skiers that participate in all events receive a special award
