Battle Creek SkiSparks Begins January 7, 2018

Hello Battle Creek Families,

The snow conditions at Battle Creek are great! We are all looking forward to being together and skiing in this beautiful gem of a park on Sunday.

Please read through the following announcements carefully. Its very difficult to get out information in person on Sundays, so I will try to provide information beforehand via email.

January 7th. Week 1 Staring Lake

We will meet at Staring Lake on the lake. Time: 1:30-3:00

MYSL Wirth Cancelled Today, Saturday December 30.

Due to sub-zero temperatures and a stiff wind, MYSL is cancelled today (12/30).

Stay warm, Happy New Year, and see you all next week.

The 12/31/17 meeting is CANCELED.

Due to the frigid temperatures forecasted for Sunday, December 31th, the MYSL Hyland meeting is canceled. We will resume on Janurary 7th at Jan's Place, 3PM. Happy New Year and stay warm!

MYSL Hyland Lake Youth Ski Club kicks off Sunday, 12/17/17 at 3 PM!

The awesome snowmaking crew at Three Rivers Park-Hyland has the midsummer area ready so we are on for December 17, 2017!

Please plan on arriving at Jan's Place at least 15 minutes early (2:45 p.m. or earlier) so you have time to check in, get the MYSL bibs on, ski or walk to the mid-summer area and be ready to ski at 3 p.m. sharp!

Club Announcements 12/4/17

Hello Battle Creek Families!

Its a little over a month until our club will begin meeting, but I wanted to make a couple quick announcements.

Equipment: If you rented equipment through Battle Creek the equipment pick-up time is this Sunday, December 10, 1:00-3:00 at my house: 1427 Osceola Ave., St. Paul. Please bring your child with so we can make sure they are getting the correct size of equipment. Also, have your child wear a thick pair of wool socks to try on their boots. Tight boots = cold toes.

11.25.17 Hugging Santa's Reindeer!

Hello MYSL skiers! I hope you’re getting excited for winter and the ski season, because I sure am! I’m writing to you from Rovaniemi, Finland. It’s right on the Arctic Circle, and it’s known as Santa’s official village and airport! We are staying at a hotel called “Santa-sport”, and there is a 9 kilometer ribbon of snow in the woods to ski on. It’s man-made snow that they store in a big pile all through the summer, and a few weeks ago they spread out the snow on the trails so skiers could be out skiing in early November! Today it was snowing so we might have more “real snow” on the ski trail soon.

Greetings Battle Creek Families!

Thank you to all of you who have registered early for Battle Creek. Battle Creek is over half full and the equipment rental is nearing capacity. Please let your friends know about our fun club and encourage them to sign up SOON. Our club starts on January 7, 2018. We will meet at Battle Creek Recreation Center from 2:00-3:30.
