No in-person club February 14;

Sadly the temperatures for Sunday February 14 force us to once again cancel in-person meeting.

Please check your emails for an option to do a Zoom meet and greet. Next week we will put together a plan for possible added sessions.

Weather cancellation February 7

Unfortunately the polar blast coming our way prevents us from safely holding in-person club this weekend. Check out the mysl youtube channel for some activities you can do on your own -- even a few minutes in your backyard on skis is better than staying inside all week!

We look forward to seeing you when we get going on Feb. 7. For your future planning our start times will be:

Level 4-6: 3 p.m.

Level 3: 3:10

Level 2: 3:20

Level 1: 3:30

FIRST IN-PERSON SESSIONS FEBRUARY 7!

Wow, we are so excited to finally gather on the snow together!

There will be some changes to our usual protocols, so watch your emails for a specific start time for your child's level.

If you are a parent volunteer, please be sure you are registered as a volunteer at mysl.org.

We will be taking attendance each week, but you can continue to RSVP ahead of time and let us know when NOT to expect you.

Skier and coach bibs will be issued on February 7 and you will KEEP them until the season is over.

Hi Northfield MYSL,

Great new snow today! Should be a lot of fun.

As always, use your discretion about travel. We'll be there!

VOLUNTEER MEETING SUNDAY DECEMBER 15 AT 7 P.M.

Our club is full and we need lots of volunteer help to have a successful session!

Parents, high school skiers and other adults willing to assist, please register as a "volunteer" at the tab at the top of mysl.org. A list of possible roles will be available there, and we will be making group assignments in the next week.

We will gather at 206 Winona St. at 7 p.m. on Sunday Dec 15 to discuss coaching assignments and subdividing our level 1 and 3 groups. If you can't attend, please contact northfield@mysl.org to let us know your group preferences.

February 3: regular session!

We will be skiing 3-4:30 tomorrow starting in the upper Arb at the usual spot. If it rains we will come inside early!

January 27: plan on a short session

We've been watching tomorrow's forecast carefully, because it looks like it will be right on the edge of guidelines for acceptable conditions. Temperatures at 3 p.m. look OK, but there will be windchill and potential snow blowing, making it more challenging to keep everyone comfortable. We've decided to go forward but want to remind everyone to dress by protecting exposed skin and with good wind protection (no cotton pants or leggings!).

January 20: We are skiing in Northfield!

The Arb is ready to ski!

1. We will get started right away on snow on the north side of the Rec Center. You can park there and look for your (color-coded) group at 3 p.m.

JANUARY 13: LOW SNOW PLAN

Due to minimal snow in Northfield, Sunday January 13 will have two locations:

1. Levels 1 and 2 (roughly ages 4 through 8) will meet in Northfield,

2. Levels 3-5 will meet at our back-up location at Hyland Hills in Bloomington, from 4:00-5:30 p.m. Those who wish to carpool can meet at the Arb office at 3 to drive up.
