Hibbing Nordic Ski Club
Welcome to the the Hibbing Nordic Gliders!!!The Hibbing Nordic Ski Club was formed by the Hibbing Parks and Recreation Department at the request of Chelsea Davidson, a Hibbing High School student. Parks and Recreation joined forces with Craig Holgate, Gerry Wyland and his wife Lisa. Craig, Jerry and Lisa have the passion to add hours of volunteer service, to share their technical skill, advice and instruction for the club members. In 2007 the informal group had 12 high school age students who met several times per week and participated in week-end ski adventures.
This season a more formal approach has been added to the Hibbing Nordic Ski Club. The club was divided into two tiers. Tier 1 serves the needs of ages 5 through 12 and Tier 2 serves the high school age student. The Tier 1 program is directed by Brian Karich of the Hibbing Parks and Recreation and the Tier 2 program is directed by Gerry Wyland. The Tier 2 program has shifted gears to introduce skate skiing and participation in competitive races. Schedule and location:
